Coronation Street spoilers: Debbie Webster killed as Ray returns for final showdown?

Corrie: Debbie Webster admits to Abi that she killed Ray

Coronation Street fans have seen Debbie Webster (played by Sue Devaney) attempt to double-cross Ray (Mark Frost) after the extent of his development plans became clear for all of Weatherfield to see. However, with Ray not wanting to back down, it wasn’t until the villainous businessman was arrested for the attempted rape of Faye Windass (Ellie Leach) he fled the cobbles. Now, as Debbie continues to try and take him down, it may be one step too far as Ray makes an unexpected return to the Street.

Debbie and Ray were revealed to be in cahoots with each other late last year, which didn’t manage to stay under wraps for long.

She has since been trying to get Ray to pull back on the destructive plans he had for Weatherfield.

However, when it was revealed Ray had attempted to rape Faye, it was Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) who took action.

After giving Ray an ultimatum, he tried to poison Abi, where she was later found by Debbie – who saved her life.

Debbie looked as though she was going to deal with Ray but she was later shown to viewers to be in contact with the sleazy developer.

While Ray remains hiding in a hotel room, Debbie has been plotting against him as he prepares to flee abroad.

But she will make a potentially fatal error next week when Ray discovers her true plans for him.

As Debbie takes the helm of Ray’s businesses, she will remind Abi next week she saved her life before things take a turn.

Debbie reveals to Ray’s accountant Miles how she has no intention of helping Ray get to Turkey, instead, she’s going to get him sent down.

Abi calls in at the Bistro and suggests they should finally tell Kevin (Michael Le Vell) the truth about Ray’s evil ways – but Debbie refuses.

Later on, Kevin and Abi’s suspicions heighten when they spot a thug lurking outside the Bistro looking for Ray, who turns out to be Mick (Neil Bell).

Kevin tells him to speak to Debbie as he continues to be sure his sister is hiding something.

Worried for Debbie’s safety at the hands of Mick, Abi reveals it was Debbie who saved her life and later killed Ray.

Of course, fans of the ITV soap know Ray isn’t dead and Debbie hasn’t killed him, with Kevin confiding in Abi he doesn’t trust his sister.

He believes Ray is still alive but Abi slaps down the suggestion, telling him he’s being ridiculous.

Meanwhile, Faye and Gary (Mikey North) head to court, leading Debbie to make a generous offer – she wants to hire a top lawyer for the teenager using Ray’s money.

Kevin is left sceptical and says he’s had enough, planning on heading off on Jack’s (Kyran Bowes) school camping trip.

But later on, Debbie is in for a nasty surprise when Ray turns up at the Bistro, having disguised himself as a workman and overheard her conversant with Miles.

Kevin manages to hit him over the head with a frying pan and tries to rescue Debbie only to hear the door slam shut and realise they are both locked in the fridge.

A deeply worried Kevin and Debbie prepare for a long night in the fridge – but with Ray still out for revenge, could the woman meet her maker in a nasty twist?
