Criminal returns to Netflix on Wednesday, September 16, as four new suspects head into the interrogation room. The latest season features a number of major actors once again – here’s everything you need to know about them.

Who is in the cast of Criminal?

Alex Daniels – Kit Harington

One major suspect interviewed in season two is Alex Daniels who is played by Kit Harington.

In the series, Alex is an estate agent who has been accused of rape by one of his staff.

Harington is, of course, best known for playing Jon Snow in Game of Thrones.

Criminal marks his first return to television screens since the HBO show came to an end in 2019.

Julia Bryce – Sophie Okonedo

Sophie Okonedo is the first guest star of the series as she plays Julia Bryce in the opening episode.

Bryce is a suspect and has been brought in after her husband is convicted of murder.

Okonedo is an Oscar-nominated actor who has also appeared in shows like Flack and the film Hotel Rwanda.

The star is also a much-celebrated theatre actress and recently starred opposite Ralph Fiennes on the West End.

Danielle Dunne – Sharon Horgan

The third episode focuses on Danielle Dunne who is played by Sharon Horgan.

Danielle is a vigilante who has seemingly taken justice into her own hands and has been hunting paedophiles.

Horgan is an actor, writer and comedian known for her hit series Catastrophe.

She also co-wrote the show Pulling and has appeared in This Way Up and Women on the Verge.

Sandeep Singh – Kunal Nayyar

Kunal Nayyar plays Sandeep Singh in the fourth episode of the show.

His character is a convicted murderer who has been hardened by his time in prison.

He is brought in to consult on another case by the interrogators in order to strike a deal.

Big Bang Theory fans will know Kunal Nayyar as Raj on the popular sitcom.

However, it’s fair to say his turn on the second season of Criminal will have many surprised by his dramatic skill.

Tony – Lee Ingleby

The second series also sees the interrogators return again, including Lee Ingleby as Tony.

Fans will recognise the star from Line of Duty, Luther and The A Word.

Vanessa – Rochenda Sandall

Line of Duty fans will also recognise Vanessa in the show who is played by Rochenda Sandall.

Vanessa works at the police department and will also be interrogating the suspects.

Natalie – Katherine Kelly

The head of the police team is once again Natalie who is played by Katherine Kelly.

Kelly is best known for playing Becky MacDonald in Coronation Street.

Criminal is released on Netflix on Wednesday, September 16.
