Death in Paradise fans convinced they've found missing puzzle piece in Richard Poole's return after grisly murder clue

DEATH in Paradise fans are convinced they've found a missing puzzle piece for Richard Poole's return after a grisly murder clue.

Last night's episode of the BBC drama saw DI Neville Parker (Ralf Little) and DS Florence Cassell (Josephine Jobert) investigating the murder of classical pianist, Pasha Verdinikov.

The case proved tricky, as the four suspects all had alibis, but things took a further turn when Neville and his team realised the murder had a link back to a case 20 years ago.

One of the clues that helped them link the current murder to the older case was the initials 'AS' that Pasha managed to scrawl on his piano stool before succumbing to his injuries.

It transpired that the initials were the same as those of a man who had had an affair with Pasha's wife 20 years ago.

Viewers somehow think this mystery man is connected to the highly anticipated return of Ben Miller as DI Richard Poole.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: "I think the initials have something to do with DI Poole! I don’t know why but I got this hunch! #deathinparadise.”

When bar owner Catherine Bordey – who was a friend of Pasha and hi wife – was then attacked by a mystery assailant in her own home, viewers were even more convinced by their theory that the case links to Richard's return.

Another tweeted: "just spotted (on re-watching), that the person who attacked Catherine, was watching the DI's shack (Richard's old gaffe) – Right from the start!! Thinking face #DeathInParadise @RalfLittle @lizbourgine @ActualBenMiller ooh, bring on tomorrow."

It was confirmed before series 10 began that Ben would be making a cameo as Richard, the show's first ever detective.

Richard was killed off at the beginning of series three, and fans have desperately been trying to figure out how he can make a comeback.

Thankfully they don't have to wait long, as he appears in the second part of the double episode which airs tonight.

Last night's episode ended with Camille Bordey (Sara Martins) making an appearance in the final moments after receiving a call about her mother Catherine's brutal attack.

She declared she would be heading back to Saint Marie straightaway, so fans can expect to see much more of her in tonight's episode.

Death in Paradise continues tonight at 9pm on BBC One.
