GMB weather expert Laura Tobin hosted a special report on Wednesday morning, travelling to an Oxfordshire zoo to meet a family of penguins.

Filming live from Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens, Laura, 39, could be seen feeding the penguins from a silver bucket.

Chatting to her Good Morning Britain co-stars Adil Ray and Kate Garraway from the zoo, Laura seemed a little distracted when feeding the creatures – meaning she forgot a few hungry penguins at the back.

Watching from home, viewers took to Twitter to plead with Laura to spare some food for the penguins at the rear-end of the group, who looked disappointed to miss out on the grub.

One fan wrote: "Oii!!! What about the penguin at the back!!! Throw him a sprat."

"Feed the poor little bugger at the back," added a second.

While a third penned: "FEED THE PENGUINS AT THE BACKKK!"

Feeding the hungry penguins, Laura informed viewers that wildlife parks up and down the country are thankfully open for business again, following the lifting of restrictions on April 12.

She said: "I am feeding the penguins first thing this morning! These guys are open after their third lockdown.

"Of course, lots of wildlife parks and zoos are so excited, most places, as this place is, entry is ticketed only, so check before you travel and book."

The meteorologist went on to fill viewers in on the weather for the week ahead, promising blue skies in the days to come.

"Weatherwise whatever you are doing for the rest of this week, it’s basically dry. Lots of fine weather, lots of sunshine around," Laura explained.

"Today the forecast, though, is for scattered showers."

Having studied Physics and Meteorology at the University of Reading, Laura joined ITV in 2012, leaving BBC behind to appear on Daybreak.

Proof of her expertise in the meteorology field, last month the ITV star earned an impressive accolade, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society.

She told her co-stars at the time: "I have the highest level of membership and it is for people who are among the most experienced and knowledgeable professionals in meteorology."
