Gogglebox's Tom Malone reveals show secret fans might not have spotted as the family arrange cakes in 'rude positions'

GOGGLEBOX star Tom Malone has revealed show secrets that fans may not have spotted, admitting that he and his dad regularly arrange their family snacks into cheeky positions.

The 26-year-old dancer opened up about his experience on the Channel 4 show in a new TikTok video.

Viewers best know Tom and his family for their pet dogs and the wide variety of snacks that they have on display during filming.

There is always a plate of delicious-looking cakes, doughnuts, and other sweet treats on the pouffe in front of their sofa.

Speaking to Tom on social media, one fan wrote: "Please put something obscure in the middle to throw everyone off.

"Like four bowls of soup!"

In his video reply, Tom cheekily admitted to a stunt that he and his dad, Tom Snr, pull, quipping: "We have, me and my dad before, put the cakes in different positions and different shapes to see if any eagle-eyed viewers would actually notice.

"So keep an eye out for that."

He added the caption: "Sometimes quite rude shapes", alongside the wide-eye emoji and an aubergine emoji.

Tom also detailed an elaborate prank his family had pulled on viewers, sharing: "This is actually something that happened, not with soup, but it has happened.

"We were watching The Andrew Marr Show when we were filming and obviously we film quite late at night but The Andrew Marr show is actually on TV quite early in the morning so we thought it'd be weird to have cakes in the middle, and we know people always talk about the cakes.

"So we decided to put out a plate of toast, so we had a big plate of toast in front of us filming The Andrew Marr Show and Twitter went nuts, it was like ToastGate – everyone was getting on at us like: 'Why do you have toast? Where's the cake?'

"It was literally because we were filming a show that's filmed early in the morning."

Tom is also regularly questioned on why nobody in the family ever appears to eat any of the snacks that are on display.

In a previous video, the sofa-dweller explained that them eating isn't shown on-screen as the programme is about them discussing what they are watching on TV, so they can't eat and chat at the same time.

However, when asked more recently by another follower he directed them to a clip that showed him reach over and grab a jam tart during one of the Gogglebox episodes, writing: "We do, but they don't often show it".

The Malone family joined the Channel 4 show in 2014 and are incredibly popular with viewers.
