James Bond: Daniel Craig speaks out on how 007 legacy has ‘AFFECTED’ his life

James Bond (played by Daniel Craig) is obviously one of the most iconic British pieces of pop culture in the world. Since 2006 Craig has served the role of 007 well, and has produced five films showcasing his talent as the MI6 spy. The upcoming No Time To Die will see Craig concluding his time on screen as Bond – but not before he says his goodbyes in a brand new podcast.

Although Bond as a franchise is rather traditional, this year sees the arrival of the first ever official James Bond podcast.

The podcast – titled: “No Time To Die: The Official James Bond Podcast” – will not only delve into some of the nitty gritty details of the upcoming film, but will also show off some interviews with the stars of the film.

First and foremost, however, the trailer for the podcast gave an exclusive glimpse at how Craig feels about bringing his journey as Bond to an end.

In the first snippet from the podcast Craig explained how he felt about the legacy of the Bond franchise, and indeed how it has affected him.

He said: “I’m very, very aware of the legacy of these films.

“And what they are, and how they’ve affected people’s lives, and how they’ve affected my life.”

Speaking about his time in the franchise, Craig continued: “I’m incredibly fortunate to be making films of this size.

“And I’m very aware that if you get a chance to do something like this you’ve got to do it!”

Of course, this is a monumental change in the Bond series, and indeed for Craig’s career.

Therefore it will be a sad day when fans see him step away from the incredible character.

Thankfully, they have a lot of good content to listen to in the coming weeks as the podcast is released.

As well as interviews with Craig, the podcast will see interviews with the likes of Rami Malek, Léa Seydoux, Lashana Lynch, Jeffrey Wright, and Naomie Harris.

On top of this, producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli will also be chiming in with their thoughts on the final film in Craig’s legacy.

After Craig leaves the franchise the role of Bond is surely going to be filled by another incredible actor – but it is as of yet uncertain who will take on the character.

Most recently, Superman star Henry Cavill spoke out about the possibility of him taking on the role.

Speaking to GQ Magazine, he said: “At this stage, it’s all up in the air.”

Going on to detail his desire to play Bond, he continued: “We’ll see what happens.

“But yes, I would love to play Bond, it would be very, very exciting.

“If Barbara [Broccoli] and Mike [Michael G. Wilson] were interested in that, I would absolutely jump at the opportunity.”

No Time To Die: The Official Podcast is available weekly from Wednesday September 30 on Apple, Spotify, Acast and all major podcast providers.

No Time To Die is currently set for UK release on November 12, 2020.
