Jerry Harris From 'Cheer' Is Reportedly Being Investigated by the FBI for Allegedly Soliciting Sex From Minors

As if 2020 couldn’t get any worse, USA Today has published a report claiming that Jerry Harris from Cheer—aka the super positive mat-talking member of Navarro College’s elite cheer team—is currently under investigation by the FBI for allegedly soliciting sex and sexually explicit pictures from minors in the competitive cheer space.

According to USA Today, a criminal investigation was brought on by 14-year-old twin brothers who allege they were harassed by Jerry both online and at cheerleading competitions while they were 13 and Jerry was 19. They told the outlet this happened over the span of a year.

The allegations involve two separate Varsity cheerleading competitions, and the company’s Chief Legal Officer Burton Brillhart reported them to Florida and Texas police. According to USA Today, Varsity’s reports included multiple screenshots and texts that Jerry allegedly sent the twins as evidence.

“We can’t comment on an active law enforcement investigation; we continue to cooperate with authorities in their inquiries on this matter,” a Varsity Brands representative told ABC News in a statement.

Jerry’s camp disputes the claims against him. “We categorically dispute the claims made against Jerry Harris, which are alleged to have occurred when he was a teenager,” a spokesperson for Jerry told ABC News. “We are confident that when the investigation is completed the true facts will be revealed.”

Jerry has not been charged with any crime.
