Jonathan Ross jokes about Christmas with '30 people' after Rita Ora's rule-break
Jonathan Ross couldn’t help but make fun of his Masked Singer co-star Rita Ora after he joked he would be inviting 30 people over for Christmas.
It comes after Rita broke tier two lockdown rules by inviting 30 people to her birthday party at a London restaurant earlier this month.
Jonathan, who sits on The Masked Singer judging panel with Rita, Davina McCall and Mo Gilligan spoke about how he would be spending Christmas this year.
However, he couldn’t resist having a bit of banter about it.
‘I’m going to be observing government restrictions so it will just be me and 30 people in a confined space,’ Jonathan joked.
‘Sorry, I meant it’ll just be my family,’ he added to The Sun on Sunday.
The How We Do singer was forced to apologise after she broke tier two restrictions when she celebrated her 30th birthday.
She later apologised again when it came to light that she should have been quarantining when she threw her dinner party in Notting Hill, as she had returned from a trip to Egypt just days prior.
Earlier this week it was also reported that Rita has left the UK to head to Bulgaria to carry out work on her new music video.
Sources claim the star is planning on heading on holiday after the shoot, instead of returning to London, in the hope of keeping a low profile.
‘Rita has beaten herself up about her mistakes but has thrown herself back into work to take her mind off things,’ an insider The Sun.
‘She spent most of this year working on her music and is now hoping to return with new tracks in early 2021, with the video to one single being filmed at the moment in Bulgaria.’
They added: ‘[Rita] doesn’t want to be in London right now, so has booked a relaxing holiday over Christmas and New Year in the hope she can start afresh in January.’
On Saturday, the Prime Minister announced a new tier-four system for London and the South East of England.
The announcement comes after concerns over a new mutant strain of coronavirus which is prevalent in the South East and is spreading 70% faster than other forms of the virus, although it is no more lethal.
At a Downing Street press conference, Mr Johnson said tier four restrictions in London and the South East will be similar to restrictions during the last national lockdown and came into force from midnight last night.
In a last-minute change, he also declared the five-day bubbles will be thrown out and that people in tiers one, two and three would only be allowed to mix households on Christmas Day itself – freezing out London and most of the South East.
The Masked Singer returns to ITV on Boxing Day.
