Killer Stephen has bad news for the Underworld staff in Corrie

The staff of Coronation Street’s premier and only underwear factory, Underworld, were jubilant recently when Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) managed to rescue a deal with American businessman Owen (Ben Hull) for their Nippersnapper range of designs.

It seemed like financial security could finally be on the cards for the factory which always seems to be teetering from one ‘let’s just get this next order out’ crisis to the next.

Sadly with Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) at the helm, trouble is likely to be never far away.

In coming episodes Beth (Lisa George) overhears a conversation between Stephen and Owen about the contract and reports back that Owen is planning to outsource the production of the range.

The workers are dismayed to hear this and immediately start to worry about what it’s going to mean for their jobs.

We might also wonder what it could mean for Owen, too.

He’s already caught the attention of Stephen for all the wrong reasons by flirting with Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) in the Rovers, and although Stephen is officially supposed to be with Elaine (Paula Wilcox) we know he has a soft spot (as much as a serial killer can have a soft spot) for the Rovers’ landlady.

So with Stephen already feeling jealousy towards Owen, could these plans to take business away from the factory tip him over the edge – perhaps prompting him to commit murder number four?
