Love Island’s best celebrity guests ever – from Mark Wright to Craig David

Love Island is due to return to our screens later this month and viewers are excited to see the brand new group of sexy singletons that will be spending the summer in the famous villa.

Making a comeback on June 28, the new series of Love Island will be available to watch on ITV2, with past series available to watch on ITV Hub to ensure you’re up-to-date with all the previous goings on in the villa.

Fans of the show have been waiting over a year for the next season of Love Island, because last summer it was cancelled due to Covid-19 and the travel restrictions that were in place.

The Love Island villa has had many celeb guests in the past, from ex-TOWIE stars to famous DJs – there are always plenty of big name appearances to keep both islanders and viewers excited.

From video calls to real-life appearances, here are the best celeb guest stars over the years.

Sean Paul

In February 2020 for the first series of winter Love Island, Sean Paul made an appearance and surprised the islanders with an exclusive performance.

Fans flooded social media to express their disappointment as the star didn’t sing his popular hit Temperature – but the islanders were not disappointed and danced the night away.

The series was won by Paige Turley and Finn Tapp, and they're still together now.

Craig David

  • Love Island's Demi Jones struggled to wake up after second surgery to remove cancer

Making his Love Island debut in 2019, one of the most memorable moments from his appearance was when he made contestant Anton Danyluk cry tears of joy.

The then 38-year-old singer partied and danced with the islanders and gave an exclusive performance of When You Know What Love Is while fans speculated how he and contestant Amber Gill should couple up.

Amber eventually won the series, alongside now-ex-boyfriend Greg O'Shea.

Mark Wright

  • Love Island beauty Eve Gale flashes cleavage as she sizzles in sheer blue bikini

Mark Wright entered the villa in 2015 to DJ for contestant Lauren Richardson’s 27th birthday.

The announcement of Mark’s appearance left viewers confused and wondering why he was entering the villa when he was married to ex-Coronation Street star, Michelle Keegan.

Of course, he wasn't actually entering the show, and former couple Max Morley and Jessica Hayes won the money in the end.

  • Love Island's Iain Stirling hints filming has started in Majorca with cryptic post

In 2017 Croydon-born rapper entered the villa – virtually.

Leaving the contestants stunned, Chris Hughes, Marcel Somerville and Kem Cetinay posed in front of the screen for a selfie with the star.

About to compete in a talent show for the episode’s task, Stormzy gave the contestants his advice for performing.

Kem, who won the series with Amber Davies, and Chris went on to release their own single, Little Bit Leave It.

Joel Corry

  • EastEnders fans get first look at Dani Dyer in dramatic cameo with her dad Danny

Joel Corry didn't actually make a physical appearance on the show in 2019, however his music did.

He rose to popularity in 2019 after his song Sorry reached No6 in the UK charts after being played on the show.

He posted a video of the scene in which his track was used on Facebook saying: “Who watched Love Island last night!? My phone went into meltdown ha!”

His career sky-rocketed after that, and he picked up three BRIT Award nominations this year.

Danny Dyer

  • Molly-Mae Hague didn't recognise her own face before getting fillers dissolved

In 2018 when his daughter, Dani Dyer was a contestant on Love Island and coupled up with Jack Fincham, dad Danny Dyer made an appearance via video call.

He gave his daughter Dani and her then-boyfriend his seal of approval by saying how "over the moon" he was.

Fast becoming a highlight of the series, fans were overjoyed when he expressed his happiness for the couple.

The fan-favourite couple went on to win the show in 2018, before splitting less than a year later.

The 2018 series saw British DJ and music producer Tom Zanetti guest star at the Love Island Ministry of Sound pool party, with contestants dancing and drinking while he DJed.

The party was a hit with islanders and viewers.

Zanetti is best known for his song You Want Me and more recently dating Made In Chelsea’s Sophie Hermann after they met on Celebs Go Dating, however they reportedly split up recently.
