Lucifer season five has finally been given a release date with a new teaser trailer dropped for fans to get their first glimpse at how Chloe Decker (played by Lauren German) and Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) will reunite. However, fans might not have released there was a major clue about this in the new trailer – did you spot it?

Has a Chloe and Lucifer reunion been confirmed in season 5 trailer?

When Netflix dropped the announcement about how the first part of season five would be released on August 21, fans were delighted.

Along with the news, the steamer also released 66.6 seconds of Lucifer’s steamiest moments in a special accompanying video.

Most of the clip drew together scenes from previous seasons which showed Tom Ellis in action as the charming Lucifer Morningstar.

However, right at the end of the trailer, fans were given their first glimpse at season five of the show.

The brief snippet saw Chloe and Lucifer locked in a steamy kiss in what is seemingly Lucifer’s apartment.

The moment sent fans into a frenzy after it confirmed the new leads of the show would be reuniting soon.

As fans will remember, at the end of season four, Chloe finally admitted her feelings to Lucifer before the pair kissed.

But, a happy ever after was not on the cards for them as Lucifer revealed he had to return to Hell in order to regain control of his unruly demons.

The last viewers saw of the beloved character, Lucifer was sitting on top of his throne in Hell surveying his kingdom.

Now the new clip seemingly confirms a Lucifer and Chloe reunion is happening – and a romantic one, no less.

Fans spotting the scene in the new trailer took to Twitter to discuss their thoughts.

User @asparkinyou wrote: “That one second in the trailer that killed us all #LuciferSeason5 #Deckerstar.”

Another named @smoakxdoe tweeted: “THAT MOMENT THAT EVERYONE IS WAITING FOR!! #LuciferSeason5.”

While a third named @winnyatheart weighed in: “Let’s play that over and over again #LuciferSeason5 #LuciferNetflix.”

However, some did point out how it might actually be a dream sequence rather than a real scene in the new outing.

A fan named @neutralcluster added: “If this happens to be in Lucifer’s mind, I’m okay with that.

“We’ve seen Chloe’s dream. Lets [sic] see if Lucifer’s hallucination is any different. I like the parallel. August 21st hurry up!”

As well as the release of the trailer, there was also a brief synopsis dropped to whet fans’ appetites.

This read: “Lucifer makes a tumultuous return, Chloe rethinks romance.

“Ella (Aimee Garcia) finally finds a nice guy, and Amenadiel (D B Woodside) adjusts to the whole fatherhood thing.”

If this wasn’t enough to get fans excited about the new season, Netflix also officially confirmed season six is happening.

The sixth outing will replace the upcoming fifth as the final outing of the hit series.

Lucifer season 5 part 1 is released on Netflix on August 21.
