As the wait for the second half of season five continues, Lucifer fans have been speculating about an intriguing potential spoiler on the show’s official Twitter page. With Dennis Haysbert joining the cast as God in the latest instalment on Netflix, could the all-powerful be spending more time on Earth than he anticipated?

TV veteran Dennis Haysbert threw Lucifer fans for a loop when he appeared as the creator of the Universe, God himself, in the final moments of season five’s midseason finale.
Thankfully, there’s more of the latest instalment to come before the fantasy drama wraps up the battle of good vs. evil in Lucifer’s sixth and final season.
Until then, Lucifer Morningstar (played by Tom Ellis) still has his devious twin brother to deal with, and an awkward family reunion with his estranged heavenly father.
Although God has always overshadowed the show’s devilish proceedings, this is the first time Lucifer’s Dad has actually answered his prayers and made himself known.
It was previously unknown in what capacity God would feature in the upcoming instalment, with some viewers worried he’d only be sticking around for an episode or two.
Now, a new post on Lucifer’s official Twitter page seems to confirm the powerful celestial will be staying put – at least until the season finale.
The show tweeted: “When could the release date of 5B possibly be? We can’t reveal that but what we can reveal: get ready for *’s extended stay on ***.”
Sadly, there is still no confirmation on when ‘Lucifans’ will finally be able to get their hands-on episodes 9-16 of the current series.
However, Twitter has been tiding viewers over with some sneak peeks at the show’s cataclysmic return, which is expected to hit Netflix early next year.
Upon seeing the latest post, most fans have deduced the starred-out snippet can only be referring to God’s extended vacation on Earth.
As the only new character with three letters in his name, it seems God will be slumming it among the mortals for the rest of season five.
Other than foiling Michael’s plans and reconciling with Lucifer, the spoiler calls into question what other business God could have on Earth.

Lucifer’s twin brother Michael has already pulled a number of last-minute tricks from up his sleeve, and could have devised another scheme to keep God away from Heaven.
He’s already proven himself as one of the most powerful celestials, and, with Mazikeen (Lesley-Ann Brandt) at his side, could even have enough muscle to ground the omnipotent creator long enough to launch an attack on the Silver City.
Meanwhile, other fans have proposed some alternative theories, including the return of a newcomer from season four.
One follower replied: “I just want to remind y’all that Eve (3 letters) will be back and she also belongs to Heaven.”
Many viewers have been hankering for the return of Eve (Inbar Lavi) ever since she broke Maze’s heart in Lucifer’s first stint on Netflix.
Additionally, still more fans have read between the lines and speculated the latest Twitter post could indicate some release date news could finally be around the corner.
Another pleaded: “God’s extended stay on earth. Now that we got that out of the way, when WILL you be able to reveal 5B’s release date???”
A midseason premiere before the end of the year is looking more unlikely with each passing day, so ‘Lucifans’ have their fingers crossed for an exciting announcement in the new year.
