BBC Breakfast saw Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt return for Friday morning’s instalment. The pair were joined by a range of guests including Secretary of State for Transport, Grant Shapps. With the news coming through of a new list of countries being added to those travellers would have to quarantine for 14 days when returning from, host Munchetty had plenty of questions for the MP. However, the host slammed the guest when he explained he didn’t have any information on how many people had been fined for breaking quarantine restrictions.
Munchetty read out some comments from viewers who had detailed their own experiences of not being tested on arrival to the UK.
The host soon went on to criticise the MP for not having data on how many people who had been fined for breaking quarantine rules.
“Has anyone been fined yet? How many?” but Mr Shapps explained he did not have the data.
This led Munchetty to hit out, responding: “You’re the Transport Secretary, why don’t you have the data?”
