Gina Gray (played by Anya Taylor-Joy) arrived in Birmingham with husband Michael Gray (Finn Cole) in series five of Peaky Blinders after falling in love while together in the United States. The pair got married after discovering Gina was pregnant but if this turns out to be a lie, matriarch Polly Gray (Helen McCrory) could take the ultimate revenge.
Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) and Polly turned their backs on the Gray couple in the final episode of the last series.
This turn of events led many Peaky Blinders fans to suggest they were the ones who alerted Oswald Mosley (Sam Clafin) to Tommy’s assassination plan.
However, could Gina’s plot to take down the Shelby brother have begun a lot earlier than viewers were led to believe?
Reddit user Flamingo_Guy questioned whether the expectant mother was lying about her pregnancy.

They said: “I remember when Gina was pregnant and Polly said ‘I wish I heard the heartbeats of that baby’ which leads me to believe that Gina was not actually pregnant.
“Polly can predict the gender of the baby and she’s a gypsy.”
“Why was Michael angry when Thomas said ‘Just remember your unborn child has witnessed what you said and it will born according to…,’” they continued.
The fan questioned why Michael had been so upset with Tommy when no harm came of his unborn child.
“Also, Gina tried to avoid Aida when she was going to check for a heartbeat. Why was that?”
Could Gina have been faking her pregnancy to secure her place in the Shelby family?
If Polly finds proof of Gina’s lies, she would take matters into her own hands and could resort to murder.
The matriarch cast her son aside for the sake of the Shelby brothers but may decide killing Gina would be sufficient redemption for choosing Tommy over Michael.

Some Peaky Blinders fans shared their theories on whether Gina and Michael betrayed Tommy.
In the same Reddit discussion, one said: “Is it not an obvious thing that it was the geezer organising the bets with Finn [Shelby] (Harry Kirton)?”
“In one of the scenes before Mosley is expected to get on stage, you can see him picking up the phone.
“Have I missed something? I’m genuinely baffled as to whether it is meant to be a cliffhanger and I’ve missed something…”
However, another explained why Finn may not be entirely to blame.
“Yes, I have considered that probability but here’s what baffles me,” one fan replied.
“Finn told him that some fascists were going to be killed but he didn’t mention how Mosley was going to get killed or when.
“Nor did he tell him about Aberama [Gold] (Aidan Gillen) assassinating [Jimmy] McCavern (Brian Gleeson).
“What I mean is that it’s too specific to know that Mosley will be shot by a sniper who’s standing behind a small, unseen window.”
Peaky Blinders is expected to return to BBC One in late 2020.
