Piers Morgan slams ‘dumb and deluded’ Denise Welch after fiery coronavirus rant
Good Morning Britain star Piers Morgan hit out at Loose Women presenter Denise Welch after she got told to "calm down" by Eamonn Holmes on This Morning.
Denise had appeared on the show to claim the media and government officials are scaremongering the public with news and figures about the current state of play with the coronavirus pandemic.
She also added that she thought the public were being misinformed about the dangers of coronavirus, eventually being told to "calm down" by Eamonn.
She said: "I'm trying to allay the fears of somebody afraid if they go outside and touch somebody they're going to get coronavirus."
When Eamonn tried to give Dr Sara a chance to speak, Denise raised her voice, prompting him to reply: "Calm down."
Clearly having seen her appearance, Piers took to social media and posted: "Dumb, deluded & dangerous Covid-deniers like Denise Welch need to stop being given airtime.
"Her idiotic, ill-informed ramblings – from a woman who never stops telling us that she suffers from mental illness – will cost lives by persuading people to think the virus isn’t a threat."
Denise and Eamonn had clashed during the show, with Eamonn saying: "A lot of people will say that you are just rabble rousing and creating panic."
Denise replied angrily and said: "How am I creating panic Eamonn, I'm telling people the truth?
"Five months ago the doctors and nurses in NHS didn't know about this virus, we have more drugs now, we don't have to go back to five months ago.

"I'm not telling anyone what to do, but I'm trying to allay the fears of people, there is more chance of us being hit by a bus and dying than dying of coronavirus.
"I know I'm passionate about this, I'm sorry."
Meanwhile, Piers and Denise have clashed on numerous occasions in the past few years, with the most recent seeing Denise accusing Piers of accusing anxiety during lockdown.
She tweeted: "Piers Morgan. Please. Have you ANY idea of the anxiety you are causing already terrified people??? We know the horror. We know."
She then continued her rant in an interview with Closer magazine, adding: "His ranting and shouting aggressively about the virus without ever sharing any positive news has scared a lot of people.
"He should care more about people's mental health."
Piers later responded by saying: "I think we're done as friends. "I can't see through the behaviour."
GMB continues on Monday at 6am on ITV.
