Roman Kemp lined up for Channel 4 reality hit The Circle after starring on I'm A Celebrity

AFTER he came third on I’m A Celebrity six months ago, Roman Kemp has started taking over my television.

Along with signing up to Channel 4’s Gogglebox and landing his own ITV Saturday show with his dad, Spandau Ballet star Martin, the Capital FM DJ is now lining up his next telly move.

I can reveal that Roman has been approached by the team behind the first celebrity version of The Circle — and they are keen to sign him.

Channel 4’s reality TV show, which started in 2018, sees players communicate and compete on a specially designed social media platform called The Circle, while only meeting in person at the end.

A TV insider said: “Roman has proved hugely popular and the team working on The Circle are desperate to get him on board.

“The show is a Stand Up To Cancer special and is being filmed in Manchester this year.

“Roman has told his team he is interested in taking part and they are trying to align his schedules. His career has taken off massively after his stint in the Jungle and now Roman is really in demand.

“Along with his radio work, he’s got a lot of TV projects on the boil so he is hoping he can clear his diary.

“Filming is planned to take place over a week so it’s a fair chunk of time to take out of his busy diary. But Roman has made it clear he’d love to get involved.

“The Circle allows you to be really creative and Roman has a cheeky, fun  side that the production team think could make for really good viewing.”

Emma Willis is returning to host the new series, which will be broadcast later this year.

An ITV spokesman said: “Only The Circle knows who is in The Circle”

Amanda's spot on

IT’S always easy to spot Amanda Holden in a crowd.

She usually catches the eye in one of the revealing dresses she wears on Britain’s Got Talent.

Yesterday, however, her outfit, was pretty tame in comparison.

But as Amanda was on her way to work at Heart Radio in central London, it was totally spot on.

I’m sure it won’t be long before she’s spotted wearing something more daring.

Ben snog was rash move

BEARD-RASH wasn’t a problem most blokes would expect when taking on a soap role.

But for EastEnders actors Tony Clay (Callum Highway) and Max Bowden (Ben Mitchell) it became a painful reality after filming their first snog.

In BBC1’s EastEnders: Secrets From The Square, which starts June 29, Max said: “He’s got very thick facial hair. It was freezing cold and we were kissing for about three hours.”

Tony added: “After a while you think, will this ever end.”

The on-screen romance has been rocky from the start when Ben discovered that Callum was struggling with his sexuality.

He fought his true feelings and got engaged to Whitney – then ended up sleeping with Ben afterwards.

PHILLIP Schofield will host new ITV docu The British Soap Awards Celebrate 21 Years, which does what it says on the tin. Airing on June 28 at 9pm, it looks at the best moments from the soaps and the awards nights.

Basil back

HAVING being on our screens for 58 years, being a furloughed fox has been a strange experience for Basil Brush.

The veteran children’s entertainer is set to return to the stage at The Drive-In Club, a socially distanced broadcast in car parks across the country, from July, and has used his time off to entertain children and eat better.

Basil said: “I’ve not been able to get a food delivery so I’ve been following the Ocado van around and going through bins at the houses where it stops.”

Joe life story stalled

HIS rags to riches story is an inspiration to many, but Joe Wicks won’t be putting pen to paper any time soon.

The self-styled Body Coach, whose online PE lessons have been a huge hit during lockdown, has turned down a £1.8million advance from HarperCollins to write his autobiography.

The eye-watering offer was put to Joe earlier this month as he signed a massive publishing deal for new adult and children’s books.

An insider said: “This is the largest book deal Joe has ever signed and as part of the package, Joe was offered £1.8million to start work on his life story.

“Joe has never shied away from speaking about his difficult upbringing and his story is one that is truly inspiring.

“But he turned it down and said he wanted to wait until his children were older.

“For Joe it’s important he speaks to them about his life before putting it out there for the world to see.

“He has promised he’ll write about his life one day.”

The star has previously been open about his tough childhood, including growing up with a father who was battling drug addiction.

The personal trainer is now worth more than £10million.

When he does release his autobiography, I guarantee it will be a bestseller.

Rebel's raving

AUSSIE actor Rebel Wilson was so hooked on BBC Three comedy This Country she got in touch with its central actor, Daisy May Cooper.

The Pitch Perfect movie star revealed she binge-watched it like a pro. Rebel said: “I watched three seasons in two days. It is such a classic.

“I know I grew up in Australia – I just really relate to it.”

Her own series, LOL: Last One Laughing is out on Amazon Prime Video today.
