Spoilers: 7 Casualty questions we need answers to as the soap returns

Casualty returns to our screens next week, and it’s safe to say that viewers cannot wait to find out what’s next for the doctors of the Emergency Department.

The medical drama was forced to shut down production earlier this year, and episodes have been rationed out in an effort to keep it on the air — with a lengthy hiatus having been implemented a little over a month ago.

However, it won’t be long before we get our weekly fix of the ED once more, as it was revealed earlier this week that Casualty will return to screens on July 11.

The anticipation is well and truly high after the jaw-dropping finale-esque instalment we were left with, and therefore, we thought it only right to take a look at all the questions that we’re going to need answered once Casualty is back on our tellies.

Has Charlie properly forgiven Connie?

Charlie had been unable to forgive Connie over what had transpired between she and Duffy prior to the latter’s death, and therefore the animosity was rife.

However, the events of the latest episode saw the two seemingly attempt to move past their differences, but with Charlie back in the ED, one can’t help but wonder if conflict will ensue once more?

Will Faith address Dylan’s feelings for her?

The hostage situation seemingly put things in perspective for Dylan, as he finally revealed that he had feelings for Faith — although he kind of did so via subtext.

The two of them shared a look — one riddled with chemistry — but they were interrupted by Lev, leaving us wondering what will happen next.

Will Faith address Dylan’s revelation? What’s more, does she feel the same way?

Will Jade come face-to-face with her mum?

The events of the penultimate episode — in which Jade encountered an old boyfriend — resulted in her reconsidering whether or not she should meet her birth mum.

In the end, she decided that she would, in fact, decide to meet her, but will she follow through?

Will she actually meet her mum?

When will we meet Fion Morgan?

Coronation Street star Stirling Gallacher, who plays solicitor Paula Martin in the ITV soap, is set to star in the BBC medical drama as Ffion Morgan — wife of much-loved paramedic Jan.

There’s little currently known about Ffion — or what the reason for her presence is — but she did receive a mention in the second-to-last episode, and it’s safe to say viewers are incredibly excited about her arrival.

Is this really the end for Will and Fenisha?

After the intensity of the hostage situation, Will asked Fenisha if there was any chance of them getting back together.

However, given that he pretty much confirmed that his reasoning for asking was due to him having overheard she’d had an abortion, Fenisha revealed that there is, in fact, no hope of a reconciliation.

Is this really the end?

This, leads us nicely onto the next question…

Will Fenisha reveal that she’s still pregnant?

In spite of having informed everyone that she’s had an abortion, Fenisha is still pregnant.

Thus far, she’s kept this information to herself, but will that change when the soap returns?

The animosity between Will and Ethan had somewhat settled prior to the hiatus, but such a revelation could result in tensions escalating once more.

How will Charlie cope in the hospital without Duffy?

Charlie struggled to cope following the death of his beloved Duffy, and therefore he quit the hospital in emotionally-charged scenes.

He aimed to return his uniform and other belongings during the latest episode, which resulted in him getting caught up in the middle of a siege — and it was this very thing that seemingly reminded him of how much he loved the hospital, and all the people in it.

His decision to return to work will no doubt bring with it some difficulties, so one can’t help but wonder if he’ll struggle to be back in the place he loves without the woman he loves?
