Spoilers: EastEnders star reveals Peter's 'interest' in Dotty
Peter Beale (Dayle Hudson) has made quite the impression on many an EastEnders resident since returning to Walford earlier this year, but one person in particular whom he’s caught the eye of is none other than schemer Dotty Cotton (Milly Zero), who’s evidently found herself attracted to him.
After a five year absence, Peter made something of a shocking return during the soap’s unforgettable 35th anniversary week earlier this year, and — in spite of his initial plan to up sticks and leave once more — he ultimately resolved to stay put and build bridges with those whom he has something of a history with.
Amid all of familial conflict — and there’s been a lot! — the young man has frequently found himself in Dotty’s company, and it’s become apparent that the she is starting to develop feelings for him.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk about the dynamic between the two characters, actor Dayle said: ‘I think Dotty really interests Peter. I think she’s a woman that he’d never encountered before — she’s very savvy, and she owns herself. She barks and she bites. That’s an exciting thing for Peter.’
In the coming episodes, the two characters are thrown into each other’s orbit once more, as Peter comes to realise that Bobby’s (Clay Milner Russell) got a crush on Dotty, and therefore he knocks his little brother’s confidence, before buying Dotty a drink in the club. One thing leads to another, and the pair go to kiss — that is, until Bobby collapses.
With enough chemistry between them to incite a potential kiss, could this be the beginning of a romance for the pair?
Speaking about Peter’s feelings for Dotty, Dayle told us: ‘I don’t know if he likes her in that way, but I think he’s interested by her.’
Dayle continued: ‘He’s intrigued to get to know her, and I think they share a lot of things in common in regards to their own families, like being the black sheep of their own families, and going off and doing their own thing, and that’s a nice common ground. They get that with each other, even if they don’t really speak about it.’
EastEnders continues Monday 27 April at 8pm on BBC One.
