Spoilers: Whitney saved from evil Michaela in EastEnders as she calls for help?

Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) has found herself in danger in EastEnders once more, as she’s been taken prisoner by Leo King’s (Tom Wells) unhinged mum Michaela Turnbull (Fiona Allen), but the next episode could result in her being rescued, as she manages to receive a call on the burner phone Max Branning (Jake Wood) provided her with last week.

It’s been a tough couple of weeks for Whitney, who — after being terrorised by Leo — ended up accidentally killing her stalker, and was subsequently sent to prison.

With Gray (Toby-Alexander Smith) having found evidence to suggest Leo had been stalking her, he was able to secure her bail, but matters were complicated further upon her release.

Whitney was delighted to be back home, but Michaela’s arrival posed a risk to her upcoming trial.

The sinister mother of her stalker has went out of her way to make her life a living hell, and — after posting about her online — she crept up behind the young woman and threatened to kill her with a knife to her throat.

During the latest episode, it was revealed that Michaela had taken Whitney prisoner, but it appears as if the next instalment might bring with it some hope for the young woman, as she receives a call from Max on the burner phone he’d given her, and she yells for help down the device — unbenkown to Michaela.

However, the image above appears to suggest that a struggle ensues when Michaela works out what Whitney’s up to, so one can’t help but wonder if Whitney manage to say what she needs to say via the device prior to Michaela’s interruption?

Is Whitney’s nightmare finally at an end?

Or is its only just beginning?

EastEnders airs these scenes on Tuesday 28 April at 7:30pm on BBC One.
