Strictly Come Dancing 2021 rich list revealed – from two-time champ Oti Mabuse to Italian hunk Giovanni Pernice

LIFTING the Glitterball trophy is every Strictly Come Dancing professional's dream, but failing to finish at the top of the leader board doesn't mean they can't cash in.

As fans gear up for the BBC One show's return this weekend, we've taken a look at how much the dancers – and the judges – can pocket from their fame.

The talented cast have amassed huge Instagram followings over the years and often use their profiles to promote sell-out tours, projects and an insight into their lives.

While the dancers only get a flat fee of around £50,000 for appearing on the show, they can top that up with lucrative brand deals on social media, sending them foxtrotting straight to the bank.

Meanwhile the Judges are each paid a different sum – and they certainly don't come cheap.

Using Instagram’s influencers earnings calculator, which looks at potential pay packets according to follower numbers, PayDayLoansNet has worked out who has the biggest earning potential per post.

Using those figures, here we reveal the Strictly Come Dancing rich list.

Dianne Buswell

Instagram earnings: £3,036.45 per post

Out of the regular cast flame-haired Dianne has the biggest earning power on social media thanks to her 843,000 Instagram followers.

The Australian professional, 32, has built up a such following since starting on the show in 2017 that she can now command up to £3,036.54 per post.

Her boyfriend Joe Sugg, 30, is likely to have helped boost her following as he is a YouTuber and social media star, boasting a whopping 5.5million Instagram followers.

Outside of Insta, Dianne tops up her earnings with her vlog, podcast, professional tours, TV appearances and her healthy lifestyle business Buswellness.

Gorka Marquez

Instagram earnings: £2,350.55 per post

Spanish dancer Gorka, 31, is the second highest earner from social media, with his 652,000 fan base enabling him to charge over £2,000 per post.

He is engaged to former Strictly contestant Gemma Atkinson, after the couple met on the show, and they share a little girl, Mia, two.

Gorka has cashed in thanks to partnerships with brands like Hartley's 10 Cal Jelly, Nococo and Tropicana.

Outside of dancing he is also a certified personal trainer and earns extra dosh through interviews, tours and TV appearances.

Oti Mabuse

Instagram earnings: £2,117.42 per post

Two-time ballroom champion Oti Mabuse, 31, is also winning when it comes to social media earnings.

Thanks to her 589,000 followers, the South African dancer is able to ask more than £2,000 per sponsored post.

She joined Strictly back in 2015 and has gone from strength to strength, winning last year with comedian Bill Bailey.

Away from dancing, Oti has worked with Sketchers, Premier Protein and Green Chef UK to create Instagram ads for them.

When not using her social media to top up her earnings, she makes extra cash on tours and through interviews, radio and TV appearances.

She was a dance captain on The Greatest Dancer and has done stints on BBC's Morning Live and Channel 4's Steph's Packed Lunch.

Motsi Mabuse

Instagram earnings: £1,736.29 per post

Judge Motsi, 40, isn't able to command quite as much as her little sister, but she doesn't do too badly either.

She can ask up to £1,700 for each sponsored post, which must be a nice boost to her wage as a judge on the show.

However, most of her social media posts are dedicated to her work, family life and her dance school in Germany.

Giovanni Pernice

Instagram earnings: £1,770.61

Italian ballroom hunk Giovanni, 31, comes in fifth place for Instagram earnings, just a few quid behind judge Motsi.

He's amassed 491,000 which is sure to grow this year thanks to his new romance with Love Islander Maura Higgins, 30, who has 3.3million followers on the platform.

Giovanni has done sponsored posts for Visit Argentina and We Are Feel multivitamins.

He also tops up his earnings with acting roles, TV appearances and dance tours.

Aljaz Skorjanec

Instagram earnings: £1,062.22 per post

Fan favourite Alijaz, 31, has a comfortable following of 465,000 on Instagram.

His large fan base means he can demand decent money for his brand posts on social media.

Slovenian Aljaz has worked with Medovie, Trending Travel and American Air on sponsored posts.

On top of that he nets around £20,000 for his professional tours, plus another Strictly pay cheque for the tour.

And with the help of his Cuban-American wife Janette Manrara, 37, they can probably charge a bit more for joint social media posts.

Karen Hauer

Instagram earnings: £969.35

Long-standing Strictly dancer Karen, 39, can command just under £1,000 for her social media posts.

She has a cool 269,000 followers on Instagram and regularly treats them to snaps of her pooch and toned abs.

Karen has partnered with Special K and Renourish Soup to create bespoke video ads on her feed for them.

The Venezuelan dancer also tops up her earnings with magazine deals, TV appearances and dance tours.

Anton Du Beke

Instagram earnings: £868.18 per post

The original professional dancer turned newest judge Anton, 55, is able to cash in on his Instagram following of 247,000.

He gets just under £900 per sponsored post on his feed to top up his Strictly wage.

But he appears to do less ads than his co-stars and instead uses his page to promote his tours and books.

In fact, the only branded post that we could spot was for the charity Blue Cross – which may well have been done for free.

Johannes Radebe

Instagram earnings: £840.54 per post

The South African dancer, 34, comes in as the ninth top earner out of the Strictly Come Dancing professionals and dancers.

Since joining the show in 2019 he's got his follower count up to 233,000, allowing him to charge £840 per post.

But like fellow pro Anton, Johannes doesn't seem to have been cashing in on sponsored posts, preferring to share dance clips and snaps of his family.

He also makes a bit of cash on the side from TV appearances, having taken part in Celebrity Masterchef earlier this year.

Neil Jones

Instagram earnings: £810.30 per post

He may have only become part of the main cast in 2019 and had one celebrity partner, but Neil, 39, has the 10th highest earning potential.

The dancer boasts 225,000 followers on Instagram which means he can charge upwards of £800 per post.

He's certainly making use of it too, as he's partnered with Quintain Living, Compete and Extra chewing gum.

Amy Dowden

Instagram earnings: £764.18 per post

Welsh professional Amy, 31, has racked up 211,000 followers since joining the show in 2017 alongside Dianne Buswell and Nadiya Bychkova.

It enables her to charge just under £800 per post and has seen her net some great deals.

She's most recently had a paid partnership with Staze Travel which saw her and friends treated to a staycation this summer.

Outside of Instagram deals, Amy has appeared in her own documentary about her battle with Crohn's disease throughout her life.

Shirley Ballas

Instagram earnings: £651.13

Shirley, 61, might be the head judge on Strictly Come Dancing, but she's not at the top of the scoreboard for Instagram earnings.

She has just 186,000 followers on the social media app, which lets her charge just over £650 per post.

Unlike her younger co-stars, she doesn't appear to do many sponsored posts.

Instead she chooses to share titbits of her life and promote her own upcoming events and tours.

Katya Jones

Instagram earnings: £642.90 per post

She may have been one half of Strictly's first same sex couple and attracted much controversy after her infamous snog with dance partner Seann Walsh in 2019, but she's nowhere near the top earner of the cast.

Russian Katya, 32, has amassed 178,000 followers allowing her to charge more than £600 per post on the social media app.

She's done an Instagram ad for dog food brand Bakers, but most of her posts just share a glimpse of her life.

Graziano Di Prima

Instagram earnings: £435.02 per post

Italian stallion Graziano, 27, only has 121,000 followers on Instagram.

He joined the show in 2018 and has only ever had one partner – which was on his first series.

But so far he hasn't made use of his new star power to do any sponsored posts.

Nadiya Bychkova

Instagram earnings: £323.33 per post

Since joining the show in 2017, Nadiya, 32, has gained 86,700 followers.

The Ukrainian-Slovenian dancer mostly uses her account on Instagram to share holiday snaps and bits of Strictly behind the scenes.

Luba Mushtuk

Instagram earnings: £285.73 per post

After two series with a celebrity partner, Russian dancer Luba, 31, has gained 58,900 followers.

Perhaps this year will see her notch up a few more in the competition and maybe gain a bigger earning potential on social media.

Craig Revel Horwood

Instagram earnings: £217 per post

He might be the biggest personality on the judging panel, but it's not translated to his social media.

Craig, 56, has the lowest earning potential per post with just 41,600 followers, meaning he can charge just over £200 for a brand ad.

His rarely used account has seen him work with KFC's foundation and promote his other TV work.

The new professional dancers

This series Strictly Come Dancing is welcoming four new professionals into the fold. The prime time show is sure to boost their Instagram earnings, which at the moment are small.

Kai Widdrington

English dancer Kai, 26, boasts 31,500 followers on Instagram which means he can make £197.57 per post. He already knows the rest of the cast well, so is sure to make an impression on the show.

Jowita Przystal

Greatest Dancer winner Jowita, 27, has 20,900 followers which nets her £144.70 a post. The Polish dancer's yet to do a sponsored post, but that is likely to change as her following grows.

Nikita Kuzmin

The former German Dancing With The Stars pro, 23, has 16,100 followers which means he can make £130.21 per post. Ukrainian dancer Nikita's social media is full of glam travelling pictures.

Cameron Lombard

South African champ Cameron, 20, only has 7,372 followers, making him earn the least per post at £92.61. He holds 18 titles, so he should get a good run in the show and boost that follower count.
