Strictly Come Dancing will return to our screens in October and it seems we’re starting to hear which celebrities will be appearing in the new series.

Strictly was due to begin in September, but amid the coronavirus pandemic the popular BBC show has been pushed back by a month.

When the series does return, it will only run for nine weeks, as opposed to its usual 12.

And bosses have made their first singings, with The Sun revealing that comedian Bill Bailey and actress Caroline Quentin will be two of the stars taking to the famous dance floor.

A source has told the publication: “The BBC are delighted with the double signing. Caroline is looking forward to the challenge and wants to get properly stuck in.

“And it’s a hard time for live performers so it seemed a good chance for Bill to commit to the show.”

Caroline, 60, is perhaps best known for her role as Dorothy in Men Behaving Badly, while Bill, 55, is an English comedian, musician and actor, known for his role in Black Books and for his appearances on Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Have I Got News for You and QI.

The rest of the Strictly Come Dancing lineup is expected to be announced within the next fortnight.

The show is reportedly set to pay an emotional tribute to Caroline Flack in a special this year.

Love Island host Caroline, 40, who tragically took her own life in February 2020, broke records on the show when she competed back in 2014 with professional dancer Pasha Kovalev as she became the first person to score the maximum 40 points in all three of her dances in the final.

Now, the late star is allegedly set to get a deserving tribute to showcase her talent in a one-off BBC special called Strictly: The Best Of The Final.

It is believed that a large part of the show will focus on Caroline's time competing and among those paying tribute will be her former partner Pasha, 40, and her close pal Janette Manrara, 36, who still dances on the show.

A source said: "Caroline was loved by all on Strictly and was a hugely popular winner among the executives and the crew.

“She was a bundle of energy and they thought if they were going to look at some of the best finals ever it would be fitting to feature her in a big way."
