Strictly's Maisie Smith raps with pals as they spend the day picking up litter
EASTENDERS star Maisie Smith has called on her fans to help the environment and pick up litter as she shared a rap video on Instagram.
The teen, who will appear on the upcoming season of Strictly Come Dancing, was joined by pals as they picked up litter and revealed they had filled two big bags full of rubbish on their walk.
She then shared a video of the three singing along to the Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme tune but they had changed the words.
"A couple of girls, they were up to some good, picking up the rubbish in the neighbourhood," they rapped.
Maisie, 19, is well known for role on the soap, but lately has come under fire from BBC bosses.
According to reports, in August Maisie was being investigated about the content she has been uploading to social media app TikTok.
Beeb bosses feared that some of her videos breached the rules of her BBC contract.
Maisie has 1.7 million followers on the platform, and her fan base on the app continues to grow.
Maisie allegedly had been offered a huge sum by a record label to post artists’ tracks over clips of her online videos.
She had previously asked soap chiefs if she could accept a similar deal but was told “No” due to clauses in her contract which says stars are not allowed to promote other brands on social media.
Despite this, she went ahead the second time.
A source said: 'It is unthinkable that Strictly would sign her after the few weeks she has had. The show is the pinnacle of the BBC and gives rising stars and established ones a huge step to more fame.
'So it’s very weird to give someone whose future was very unclear just weeks ago such an opportunity. Perhaps they see it as a way of nailing down a rising star rather than her leaving and taking with her a young audience.'
Maisie also attracted criticism after being spotted smoking a spliff in her car.
