Strictly’s Max George reveals ‘big crush’ on Caroline Quentin – but will miss being away from girlfriend Stacey Giggs

STRICTLY Come Dancing's Max George has revealed that he has a "big crush" on one of his competitors – telling The Sun Online that he used to fancy actress Caroline Quentin.

The 32-year-old star is loved-up with girlfriend Stacey Giggs, but he admitted that he is "buzzing" to be starring alongside his childhood crush.

Speaking ahead of the BBC One series' launch later this month, Max explained: "I'm buzzing Caroline is here.

"Me and my brother used to have a big crush on her when we watched Men Behaving Badly, she is so cool.

"Unfortunately we’ve not been able to spend any proper time with each other, I’m sure everyone is amazing.

"Caroline is just class, I already feel less nervous because she’s here."

Caroline, 60, shot to fame in the '90s comedy, where she played Dorothy, and fortunately for Stacey there is no chance of her nabbing Max.

The actress married husband Sam Farmer in 2006 – with the pair first meeting on the set of Men Behaving Badly in 1998, where he was a runner.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Strictly stars are forced to isolate away from their loved ones while filming the show – and Max admitted that he will miss "being in Stacey's pocket".

The singer, who first shot to fame in boy group The Wanted, told us: "Being away from any of your family especially someone like your girlfriend and her kids – we’ve been in each other’s pockets.

"It will be difficult but for me personally I am used to being away, with the boys I was always away and with acting especially this year with the COVID situation it is a bit of a shock to the system.

"But we’re both excited to see what happens."

Stacey and Max started dating last year – two years after her split from cheating footballer Ryan, who she divorced in 2017 after 10 years of marriage.

They met at the John Gilbert pub, in Worsley, and hit it off straight away – with Stacey "always a massive fan" of The Wanted.

Soon after they started dating, the pair jetted to Dubai on holiday and returned home with tattoos of their respective initials inked on each other – and they even bought a dog together, named Albert.

Max – who was once engaged to former Corrie star Michelle Keegan – is said to get on well with Stacey and Ryan’s teenage children, 17-year-old Liberty and 14-year-old Zachary.
