This Morning Out To Lunch series slammed for using same name as podcast
MasterChef star and food writer Jay Rayner has attacked This Morning for using the same name of his podcast for Nigel Havers new segment on the breakfast show.
Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield launched the new section of the show on Monday's episode named Out to Lunch with Nigel Havers.
The new feature on ITV shows the British actor taking out a different famous friend each time to lunch.
Nigel, 69, said: “In this series, I’ll be sitting down for lunch in some of London’s most glamorous locations, and having a chinwag and some delicious food. So, let’s go out to lunch.”

The pilot episode featured Welsh comedian and actor Griff Rhys Jones as the pair went for lunch at the Rosewood in London.
On July 13, Jay had created an Out To Lunch podcast episode with Charles Dance at The Pie Room at the Holborn Dining Room, which is part of the Rosewood Hotel.
Jay, 54, was not impressed with the many similarities between the new This Morning segment and his own podcast which have seemingly copied the name as well as the format.
In March 2019, the MasterChef star launched his podcast, Out To Lunch with Jay Rayner, where he interviews various famous people over lunch in many different restaurants across the UK.

Completing five series already, Jay has had on Stanley Tucci, Damian Lewis, Jo Brand, Tom Kerridge and Kathy Burke all spilling their best chat on his podcast.
A viewer first alerted Jay to the copycat on Twitter writing: “It seems #thismorning have completely ripped off your @outtolunchwithformat. Sadly they have Nigel Havers interviewing various well-known people over lunch, even calling it Out To Lunch – with Nigel Havers. Obviously your podcast is so much interesting & entertaining.”
Jay responded with: “Imitation being the sincerest form etc. Tbf there is no wizardry to the formula; you just have to be good at it.”
The next day, however, Jay seemed to be a bit more annoyed as he took to Twitter again to release some rage.

The journalist tweeted: “One for the producers of @thismorning (and @Schofe/ @hollywills). There’s nowt unique about interviewing people over food.
“But out of basic self-respect and originality, couldn’t you have come up with a name other than #OutToLunch for your new segment? Given a certain podcast?”
He continued: “It’s gobsmacking, to be honest @thismorning. Not just the same idea. Not just exactly the same name. But even the same location as the last episode of #OutToLunch recorded in a restaurant. Havers is sitting in exactly the seat I sat in at @HolbornDining. Aren’t you embarrassed?”
Standing up for a fellow TV presenter, Great British Menu host Andi Oliver quote-tweeted Jay’s post and wrote: “‘Woooow! That’s definitely not ok!!!’ while other followers called the This Morning series "a rip-of".
