Fans of the Western drama Yellowstone were bowled over by this year’s season finale after a series of attacks left the Dutton family on death’s door. Paramount viewers were also worried about the fate of Jimmy Hurdstram after he contracted some serious injuries, but a new interview with Jefferson White has quelled some concerns.
Jefferson White has confirmed he’ll be reprising his role as ranch hand Jimmy Hurdstram for at least the opening episodes of Yellowstone’s fourth season.
Concerns about his character’s fate were raised after his new girlfriend Mia (played by Eden Brolin) convinced him to return to the rodeo despite suffering from some critical injuries.
Additionally, the star seemed to be missing from some new social media posts from his bunkhouse co-star, Cole Hauser, who plays faithful cowboy Rip Wheeler.
Now, a recent interview with the Yellowstone star for TV Line has confirmed Jimmy will be back on the saddle for the neo-Western’s upcoming instalment.
Jefferson White confirmed: “The first episode of season four is my favourite episode of the show yet, so I just can’t wait for people to see it.”
The bunkhouse posse are speculated to be in full revenge mode after unknown assailants left ranch owner John Dutton (Kevin Costner) crippled by the roadside.
Meanwhile, his kids Kayce (Luke Grimes) and Beth (Kelly Reilly) were also targeted, leaving fans in the dark about the fate of Rip’s fiancée.
After sustaining some severe injuries in the rodeo, there were also some raised flags about Jimmy’s status heading into the new season, currently in production.
Thankfully, these comments from Jefferson White seem to confirm Jimmy will be joining the bunkhouse crew on the path of vengeance in 2021’s season premiere.
He revealed: “It’s incredible. I think season four is the best season yet.
“We shot it all in Montana, and that really has a transformative effect. I really think it’s an incredible season.”
Despite most television projects being hit by extensive coronavirus delays, Yellowstone has managed to stick to its regular schedule and should hit its usual June release deadline.

Though Yellowstone fans were stunned by the final ten minutes of episode ten, The World Is Purple, the pacing of this year’s outing was much more deliberate than previous episodes.
White promised an exhilarating start to the new season, and explained: “Season 3 had a kind of slow burn pace to it.
“It was like a slow, simmering build to that finale, which obviously had such a climactic explosion leaving so many of the Duttons in danger.”
As John Dutton struggles to remain in control of his highly coveted ranch, this year’s dramatic conclusion has already set up Yellowstone’s most action-packed season arc yet.
Finally, the star teased: “Season four just starts out at this breakneck pace.”
Taylor Sheridan’s thrilling series has built up a reputation for its gripping opening episodes, so there’s no reason to believe Yellowstone’s fourth season would be any different.
Yellowstone has built up a considerable following since its debut in 2018, so the promise of White’s ‘favourite episode’ hitting screens next year is sure to lure back its millions of fans.
Yellowstone will return with season 4 in 2021 on Paramount and Peacock.
