Virginia cyclist busted for flashing butt, assaulting hikers on bike trails
A Virginia cyclist was busted over the weekend for assaulting and flashing his butt to hikers in a series of altercations last month, according to reports.
David Marlowe, 55, was arrested Sunday on charges stemming from at least five spats over proper etiquette on trails in Arlington County, local outlet ARLnow reported.
In one encounter on Aug. 11, Marlowe allegedly yelled at a man and a woman to stay on the right side of the yellow line on the Four Mile Run Trail, news station WUSA reported.
When the man responded, Marlowe allegedly got off his bike, struck him in the arm and exposed his rear end before attempting to snatch the woman’s phone, authorities said.
Then on Aug. 15, Marlowe approached two hikers on his bike on Washington & Old Dominion trail while traveling at high speed, the report said.
When one of the hikers took out his cellphone, Marlowe allegedly struck him, then pulled down his shorts and mooned the pair before taking off.
Police said they’re continuing to investigate to determine if Marlowe is behind other similar incidents.
He faces charges for assault and indecent exposure, robbery and felony possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, the outlets reported.
